We prioritize transparency; all fees are discussed in the initial meeting and finalized in writing before we begin. We offer a free 15 minute discovery call to understand the nature of your dispute and provide a fee estimate.
Please note that detailed document review or detailed understanding of case facts and timeline and providing specific legal opinions are part of a formal consultation and not done during discovery call. In line with our commitment to make justice accessible to all, we also accept Pro Bono mandates with almost zero charges for individuals from economically weaker sections (EWS) or those in distress and not able to pay.

We provide independent Strategic Case Reviews and Legal Opinions. The fee is 2000 rs for a 30-40 minute session, which includes a preliminary review of your documents and timeline of your case. To ensure a fruitful discussion, please have your complete case records available, including the Charge Sheet (wherever applicable) and all interim orders passed by the court till date.

Do I need to pay a retainer to an Advocate?

A Retainership is generally required only when your legal requirements are ongoing, continuous, or unpredictable and you want to avoid repeated briefings and immediate availability of an Advocate at predictable costs. For instance, a business dealing with lot of clients and requiring regular legal advice or representation in multiple matters without having to negotiate fees or check availability for every matter. However, if you have a single matter, engaging an advocate on a fixed-fee schedule is sufficient.

I have paid a significant fee but cannot reach my Advocate or get sufficient time. Should I change my counsel?

There are 3 separate concerns here

  • a. Fee Transparency & Payment Schedule - To avoid "financial surprises," the total professional fee and a clear payment schedule should be agreed upon in writing at the start. This prevents situations where a low initial quote is followed by unexpected demands, or where an Advocate puts efforts and then left waiting for fees. A written agreement ensures that if either party wishes to disengage, there is no ambiguity regarding outstanding costs or refunds.

  • b. Communication protocol - Advocates are often most creative & focused about the matter in the days immediately preceding a significant hearing. To ensure clarity, agree on communication schedule upfront. Schedule any information or queries from your end in batches and share over email. Ask for a brief update via email or a scheduled 10-minute call following each court date.

  • c. Changing the counsel - It should only be a final resort after attempting to resolve concerns through a formal meeting. If you decide to change counsel, always inform your counsel in writing and remember that an Advocate is professionally obligated to return your case file on your asking upon disengagement and provide NOC (No Objection Certificate) in appointing a new counsel.
