Message from the Founder
This Chamber is founded on the belief that justice is the true lifeline of society; an unjust society is a dying one. The mission is to practise law with integrity and transparency, with due sensitivity to time, cost, and circumstance, so that the pursuit of justice does not itself become a burden.
Peace is not accidental; it is the outcome of just struggle. Every matter is fought with preparation, responsibility, and empathy, guided by law, conscience, and duty, whether the matter concerns bail, family disputes, writ jurisdiction, or tribunal litigation.

What are your consultation and case handling charges?
Case handling charges depend on the forum, stage of proceedings, urgency, and complexity of the dispute. Fees are discussed transparently and finalized before substantive work begins. In appropriate cases, the chamber may also consider pro bono or near-pro bono assistance for persons from economically weaker sections or individuals in genuine distress.
How can I engage you as my advocate, and how does the process work?
To ensure professional commitment, work on any legal matter begins only after fees are agreed upon and paid as per the agreed schedule:
- Initial Contact: Short introductory calls (typically under 10 minutes) to understand whether your matter falls within our areas and forums of practice, assess urgency, and determine availability are provided without charge.
- Detailed Consultation: Any detailed consultation that requires reading documents, understanding detailed facts, or advising on legal strategy is conducted on a paid basis. You can schedule a legal consultation here.
- Fee Agreement: Substantive legal work—such as drafting petitions, conducting research, or appearing in court—begins only after professional fees and the payment schedule are mutually agreed upon.
- Commencement of Work: Once the engagement is confirmed and Vakalatnama is signed and accepted, we work diligently to understand every aspect of your matter and provide you with best possible legal representation. We keep you informed of significant developments and milestones as the matter progresses.
Do you represent clients in Delhi, and how do you manage cases there?
Yes. Although our primary chambers are based in Chandigarh, we handle a significant number of cases in Delhi. Advocate Vivek Malhotra visits Delhi once every week for court appearances, meetings, and litigation matters before the High Court of Delhi, Delhi District Courts (including Rohini, Tis Hazari, Patiala House, Saket, and others), and central tribunals. Consultations for Delhi-based matters can be conducted via video/phone call or scheduled in person in Delhi by prior appointment.
Do you offer legal consultations in Chandigarh and Delhi, and what are the charges?
Yes. Advocate Vivek Malhotra offers comprehensive legal consultations for civil, criminal, matrimonial, writ, and tribunal matters. Phone consultations (approx. 15 minutes) are charged at Rs. 1000, while detailed in-person or video consultations (30 to 40 minutes) involving document reviews and case strategy are charged at Rs. 2000. For convenience, in-person meetings can be arranged at our Chandigarh office or during our weekly visits to Delhi by prior appointment. You can book an appointment through our contact page.
Which courts and tribunals do you appear before?
We regularly represent clients before the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Chandigarh, the High Court of Delhi, and District Courts in both Chandigarh and Delhi. We also appear before key tribunals and regulatory bodies, including the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), and the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). For a complete overview, please visit our practice areas page.
Do you handle criminal defense and bail matters in Chandigarh and Delhi?
Yes. The chamber represents clients in a wide range of criminal matters, including regular bail, anticipatory bail, FIR quashing, criminal revisions, and appeals before the High Courts of Punjab & Haryana and Delhi, as well as trial courts. We offer robust defense representation and strategic case preparation. Detailed information is available on our dedicated practice pages for criminal defense, bail matters, anticipatory bail, and FIR quashing.
Can you help with divorce, child custody, and matrimonial disputes?
Yes. We handle all aspects of matrimonial and family law, including contested and mutual consent divorce, child custody disputes, maintenance/alimony, and domestic violence cases. We represent clients across the Chandigarh tri-city area and in Delhi. To learn more about our family law services, please visit our pages on divorce in Chandigarh, divorce in Delhi, child custody in Chandigarh, child custody in Delhi, and domestic violence defense.
Do you handle cheque bounce (Section 138) and civil recovery cases?
Yes. We regularly handle cheque bounce complaints under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, representing both complainants seeking recovery and individuals defending against complaints. We also handle civil suits, property disputes, and recovery matters. You can read more on our cheque bounce cases and civil litigation pages.
When does a legal retainer make sense for businesses or individuals?
A legal retainer is ideal when you or your business require ongoing, time-sensitive legal advice, regular contract review, or representation across multiple active disputes. This model provides priority access to legal counsel without negotiating separate fee terms for every single issue. For isolated or one-time court cases, a standard stage-wise or fixed-fee engagement is generally more practical.
How can I book an urgent consultation for bail, stay orders, or suspension of sentence?
For urgent matters requiring immediate court intervention, please contact the chamber directly via phone or WhatsApp at +91 79861 46023. Briefly describe the nature of the emergency, the current court, and have your case files or orders ready. Sharing documents in advance allows us to assess the situation quickly before the consultation. You can also send details through our contact page.
